Social Media continues to play an important role in many business' marketing efforts this year and more people are starting to set up their profiles on the big three - Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. It is important to have a plan and strategy in place before jumping into social media. It is with this in mind that the featured article this month will provide some insight into this and what you need to do to get started in the right direction! I hope you

Importance of Social Media Strategic Planning
|
Many
business owners are jumping on to the Social Media bandwagon without
planning strategically what it is they would like to accomplish with
social media for their business. I can't emphasize enough the
importance of doing a social media assessment and strategic plan for
your business before becoming a part of the social media community.

you've ever had a web site hacked, endured a computer crash,
or experienced a web site host that simply closed their doors and
disappeared one day, you know how painful it is to try and retrieve and
restore all of your information. No doubt you know how important it is
to back up your blog and your web site. But, what about that
information for which you have no control over, like your Twitter and
Facebook accounts, Google documents, and Gmail accounts? Now you
can
back up all of your information at those sites, and more!
With a free account at Backupify, backing up your lifestream is easy.
Just enter your login credentials for each service you want to backup,
and set your preferences, and the backup happens automatically. You
will get regular emails confirming when your backups have completed.
All of your data is stored on the Amazon S3 cloud, which they chose
after careful analysis of their security and data duplication policies.
To restore your data, the process depends on the account. For something like Flickr, they can restore your account to a state very similar to what it was before you lost it. This isn't yet automated, so their programmers will have to do it manually for you. For something like Twitter, they can't time stamp a tweet so they can never really restore you account. The best they can do is re-tweet everything for you at one time, but your followers would probably hate that. The company invites you to email them regarding the restoration process for various services. Backupify currently backs these online accounts: * Gmail * Google Docs * Flickr * Basecamp * Wordpress * Delicious * Photobucket * Blogger * FriendFeed To learn more click here.
